Hello new and returning families. This year looks to be a closer return to normal than the last 18 months offered. We are all excited at the chance for in-person learning to resume. Congratulations everyone.
At the beginning of each year, as all PTSA's do, we are seeking financial support so that we can again support the students and the staff so that they can continue to thrive.
Last year, supporting remotely was a challenge and most of our expenditures went to supplying student and teacher requested home study kits. We also supplied teacher appreciation gifts (3 times) and graduation gifts for the senior class.
As I mentioned last year, we sympathize with any family who has been negatively affected financially by the weight of the pandemic. We do not expect everyone is able to contribute and appreciate any extra amounts from those in a position to do more. Our ask is that you all join the PTSA if possible. In my message last fall, we communicated that our target contribution was set at $300 per family yet we will appreciate any amount donated for the cause of rounding out any school funding issues. Regardless of what you can supply, the PTSA will always try to meet the requirements we're presented with, so please do join and become part of the PTSA supporting Gibson Ek.
Our first goal is to get as many families involved directly and the second is to bring in funds so that we can adequately support every student and all the staff by providing all the necessities to make the school year a success.
