Gibson Ek students and families are invited to join ParentWiser and the Gibson Ek PTSA at 5:30 p.m. on March 19 at Gibson Ek for a special evening event featuring student speaker Annaka King. Annaka will present her project on Invisible Disabilities. 

In conjunction with the event, the Gibson Ek PTSA is bringing the Lens of Youth: Misunderstood Moments exhibit to Gibson Ek. Misunderstood Moments is an awareness program by Lens of Youth. It collects real-life stories of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, each paired with original artwork by youth to help others understand, connect, and build compassion. Through public exhibitions and awareness events, participants experience these stories and artworks and are encouraged to make their commitment by signing the Pledge, fostering a community of kindness, inclusion, and understanding.

The exhibit will be available to view at Gibson Ek through March 20. We hope you will join us for this opportunity to learn, reflect, and strengthen our community.
